At the PTI, we measure Triple P outcomes at pretest, posttest, 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year follow-up. Outcomes are measured in the following domains using the parent-report measures:
- Parenting Practices (The Parenting Scale)
- Child Behavior (The Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory - ECBI)
- Parental Stress (The Depression, Anxiety, Stress Short Form - DASS21)
The Parenting Scale and the DASS21 are available free of charge, and they are posted below. The ECBI is a proprietary measure, which can be ordered from PAR, Inc. To simplify scoring, we have created scoring templates for all three measures in Microsoft Excel, which are also posted below.
In San Francisco, Question #18 on the Parenting Scale ("When my child misbehaves, I spank, slap, grab, or hit my child") is omitted due to focus group feedback from parents that they consider this a "gotcha" question.
Here is a 1-page document called "When Bad Data Happens to Good Agencies" that the PTI created to help agencies using the Parenting Scale avoid common data quality problems.
